Professional Development Trainings increase the staff’s understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and how it significantly affects functioning within the educational, home and community settings. Trainings are to help the school faculty understand autism. Trainings are customized to meet the needs of teachers, paraprofessionals, clinicians, administrators and parents. Workshops encompass a wide range of relevant topics including: Autism 101- Participants learn the characteristics and implications of ASD How to Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in the Classroom- Participants learn how to develop ABA programs in the classroom Conducting a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Developing an Effective Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)- Participants learn how to conduct a FBA and use this information to develop an effective BIP How to Assess the Students with ASD- Participants learn how to administer the Assessments of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS) and the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) assessments Crisis Intervention Management- Participants learn how to respond to unsafe behaviors Effective Integration- Participants learn how to successfully integrate students with special needs into the general education setting(s) Enhancing Social Skills in the Classroom- Participants learn how to foster socials skills in the classroom Data Collection and Analysis- Participants learn how to collect and analyze data in a meaningful and efficient manner Technology for Students with Special Needs- Participants learn the latest technology to facilitate learning, communication and independent functioning Visuals, Schedules, and More- Participants learn how to develop and utilize “visuals” in the classroom And Many More!
