Professional Development Trainings increase the staff’s understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and how it significantly affects functioning within the educational, home and community settings. Workshops encompass a wide range of relevant topics including: Autism 101- Participants learn the characteristics and implications of ASD How to Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in the Classroom- Participants learn how to develop ABA programs in the classroom Conducting a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Developing an Effective Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)- Participants learn how to conduct a FBA and use this information to develop an effective BIP How to Assess the Students with ASD- Participants learn how to administer the Assessments of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS) and the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) assessments Crisis Intervention Management- Participants learn how to respond to unsafe behaviors Effective Integration- Participants learn how to successfully integrate students with special needs into the general education setting(s) Enhancing Social Skills in the Classroom- Participants learn how to foster socials skills in the classroom Data Collection and Analysis- Participants learn how to collect and analyze data in a meaningful and efficient manner Technology for Students with Special Needs- Participants learn the latest technology to facilitate learning, communication and independent functioning Visuals, Schedules, and More- Participants learn how to develop and utilize “visuals” in the classroom And Many More!
